TOPSAIL PRESBYTERIAN PRESCHOOL

"Come Learn and Grow With Us"

Topsail Presbyterian Preschool is a developmental preschool in which each child is given the opportunity to progress at his or her own pace. We believe that children learn through hands on activities and strive to maintain a structured program with a well-rounded academic and Christian based curriculum. Our program encourages investigation, exploration, manipulation and creative expression.

Our children participate in a daily routine that includes circle time, phonics, science, sensory, art, outdoor play and much more! Lesson plans are written with opportunities for fine motor and gross motor social and spiritual growth.

Our mission is to provide an atmosphere of Christian love and acceptance. We want each child to build a positive self-image with the knowledge that they are loved by God, while seeing that they graduate with exceptional core academic skills that will start them on the path to a bright future.

Toddler 2's

Our Toddler program is for children two years of age. There are eight children, a Teacher and a Teacher's Assistant. A typical day revolves around helping the children learn different social skills and introducing early learning skills such as colors, shapes, letters and numbers, along with potty training skills!

Our Toddler Program is designed for children who are two years old and ready to begin exploring the world around them in a supportive, structured setting. With a small class size of just eight children, each classroom is led by an experienced teacher and a teacher’s assistant, ensuring plenty of individualized attention and care. Each day focuses on building important social skills such as sharing, taking turns, and expressing emotions, while gently introducing early learning concepts including colors, shapes, letters, and numbers. We also support families during the potty-training process in a positive and encouraging way. Our developmentally appropriate, play-based curriculum encourages hands-on discovery and meaningful learning experiences. Children enjoy daily outdoor play, creative exploration, and engaging activities designed to support their cognitive, social, emotional, and physical growth — all within a safe, nurturing environment where they can learn and thrive.

Transitional Kindergarten

Our TK program is for children ages 5 - 6 who are ready for kindergarten-level learning. There are 10 children, a Teacher and Teacher’s Assistant. A typical day includes early literacy and math activities, social-emotional learning, classroom routines, and hands-on experiences that prepare each child for a confident transition into grade school.

Our Transitional Kindergarten Program is designed specifically for children ages 5–6 who are ready for kindergarten curriculum. This program provides a nurturing, structured environment that builds confidence, independence, and a love of learning.

With a maximum group size of just 10 children, each class is led by a dedicated teacher and a teacher assistant, allowing for meaningful individual attention and support. The small class size gives children the opportunity to strengthen areas where they may need extra practice, while also being challenged in their stronger skill areas. At the same time, students continue to learn and grow together as a whole group, working at a kindergarten level.

Through hands-on, developmentally appropriate activities, children build early literacy and math skills, develop social-emotional awareness, and practice important classroom routines. Our half-day schedule offers the perfect balance of focused academic instruction, creative exploration, and purposeful play — preparing each child for a confident and successful transition into grade school.
