The Member Resource Area provides access to information intended only for members of Topsail Presbyterian Church and is password protected. Please do not share documents or passwords outside of the congregation.  We offer in-person worship services each Sunday at 8:15 AM and 10:30 AM. Our 10:30 service is streamed on this site and our Facebook page. Although vastly different in their journeys, there are 3 cords that bind each of us together. **We Are…**real people infused with dynamic faith, committed to a common vision, joined together in the covenant love of our Creator.  **We Used to Be…**completely broken but are now grateful for undeserved redemption, astonished by amazing Grace, healed by forgiveness and humbled by the divine invitation to be included in the greatest cause on earth. **We Serve…** a good and perfect God. The nations are His dwelling and our lives are His vessels. We have compassion for the poor, and our hearts are open to the rich.  we trust in the one triune God, the Holy One of Israel, But we rebel against God; we hide from our Creator. we violate the image of God in others and ourselves, and threaten death to the planet entrusted to our care. Yet God acts with justice and mercy to redeem creation. the God of Abraham and Sarah chose a covenant people Like a mother who will not forsake her nursing child, like a father who runs to welcome the prodigal home, sets us free to accept ourselves and to love God and neighbor, rules our faith and life in Christ through Scripture, feeds us with the bread of life and the cup of salvation, and calls women and men to all ministries of the church. to witness among all peoples to Christ as Lord and Savior, and to work with others for justice, freedom, and peace. even as we watch for God’s new heaven and new earth, can separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord. Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit. As we grow in faith together, we recognize that everything we have—our time, our abilities, and our resources—is a gift from God. Stewardship is our faithful response to these blessings, lived out through generosity, service, and heartfelt commitment to God’s mission. **Stewardship is more than giving**—it’s a way of living. At its heart, stewardship is a faithful response to God’s blessings and a reflection of our relationship with Him.  At Topsail Presbyterian Church, we believe stewardship is the outward expression of our inner commitment to God. When we give of ourselves—through service, generosity, and compassion—we become the hands and feet of God in the world. Members set aside a small gift—such as five cents per meal—and bring it on the second Sunday of each month. A portion of this offering stays in Hampstead to support the [4C’s Food Pantry](http://www.4csfoodpantry.com/), while the rest helps provide meals, support sustainable agriculture, and fund nutrition and self-sufficiency programs. PATH links our daily bread to the needs of others, reminding us of Christ’s call to share so that all may be fed. We invite you to join us to live out a life that will bring glory to God and be a blessing to the world.  If we had to categorize our worship style, we might use words like traditional but not *boring*. You will hear hymns and liturgy that have sustained our faith for generations. We believe that God is glorified when worship is the faithful and joyous response of grateful people. For more information on our worship services, click here. **Services** are held at 8:15 and 10:30 each Sunday in the sanctuary. **8:15** is a smaller, slightly more casual, intimate and contemplative worship service. **10:30** usually has a larger crowd, choir, and a children’s sermon after which children can go to age leveled Sunday School classes or are welcome to stay in worship with their families. A nursery is provided during the 10:30 service. We celebrate Communion, also known as the Lord’s Supper, on the first Sunday of each month and on other occasions as an act of thanksgiving, remembrance, and spiritual nourishment. We practice an open table, trusting that the invitation to Communion comes from Christ himself. These services provide meaningful moments of celebration, remembrance, and community support. Our **Blue Christmas** service is a gentle, contemplative service for those who are carrying pain or loss during this season of celebration.  Worship with us as we ask God for guidance so that we may find love, light and hope during the Christmas season. Our **Christmas Eve** communion services offer an opportunity for families to come together to reflect on and celebrate the true meaning of Christmas. Two services are offered to meet families’ needs: an early, child-friendly service and a later candlelight service. Our **Ash Wednesday** service marks the beginning of Lent -- a season of reflection, repentance, and preparation for Easter. It serves as a call to spiritual renewal, reminding us of our human mortality and need for God’s grace. Through scripture, prayer, and the imposition of ashes, worshipers are invited to humbly acknowledge their dependence on God and commit to a season of self-examination, prayer, and growth in faith. Our **Maundy Thursday** service commemorates the night of the Last Supper, when Jesus shared a final meal with His disciples before His arrest and crucifixion. The word *"Maundy"* comes from the Latin *mandatum*, meaning "commandment," referring to Jesus’ instruction to "love one another as I have loved you." This service includes the celebration of Communion, reflecting on Jesus’ institution of the Lord’s Supper. The service concludes with a **Tenebrae** (Latin for “darkness” or “shadows”) portion—a solemn ceremony involving the gradual extinguishing of candles, stripping the Chancel of traditional church paraments and reading of Scripture to symbolize the deepening darkness of Jesus’ betrayal, suffering, and death. At Topsail Presbyterian Church, our Fellowship Committee strives to provide opportunities for us to come together and build deeper relationships as we work together to complete God’s purpose. Events are planned, outside of worship services, for us to interact, get to know each other, and build relationships that support our collective faith journey. In addition, community groups have been established to provide more focused opportunities for togetherness. These community groups are about establishing relationships that encourage us to grow spiritually, offer mercy towards one another in our time of need, and offer fellowship with one another and others in our community. Groups usually consist of 7-15 attendees, in various life stages and from various backgrounds, who meet on a regular basis. We hope you find a fellowship opportunity that fits your needs and will join us in this journey. We usually begin in prayer, share a meal together, have a small group-style Bible study, and play interactive games or recreational activities.  Youth Sunday School is offered each Sunday during the 10:30am worship service. Participating students are excused from the worship service following the Children’s sermon and reconnect with their parents at the conclusion of the service.  Our youth is actively involved in Youth Service on the first Sunday of every month. We engage in scripture readings and ushering opportunities to serve the congregation and share our talents.   Our youth calendar of events is student-led. Items collected may include food, personal hygiene products, cleaning supplies, and paper goods. **One Great Hour of Sharing** (OGHS) is a Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.) offering collected during Lent that supports disaster relief, fights hunger and helps communities overcome poverty. Through OGHS, Presbyterians share God’s love by bringing hope and practical assistance to people in need around the world. The **Pender County Long Term Recovery Group** coordinates equitable distribution of resources and recovery services for Pender County residents affected by disasters. The group is comprised of non-profit, faith based and charitable organizations who work together to meet unmet needs of Pender County residents. Every Christmas season, through **Operation Christmas Child Shoebox**, Topsail Presbyterian Church works with Samaritan’s Purse to send gift-filled Operation Christmas Child shoeboxes to children in need around the world. **Rise Against Hunger** works worldwide to fight food insecurity by providing volunteer-packaged meals and support, while also partnering with local leaders to implement sustainable agriculture and income-generating projects that improve nutrition, education, health, and long-term community self-reliance.  In partnership, Topsail Presbyterian Church has packaged over 40,000 meals.  **Meals on Wheels:**Topsail Presbyterian Church partners with Pender Adult Services, Inc. to provide nutritious meals for those who are homebound and unable to prepare their own meals. Once a month, volunteers gather on Saturday morning to prepare and deliver food in eastern Pender County. **Christmas A**: Each year, Topsail Presbyterian Church participates in the Salvation Army’s Christmas Angel Tree program, providing gifts and essentials to children and families in need so they can experience the joy of Christmas. **Roots of Recovery** works to decrease the number of women suffering from homelessness and poverty, and reduce the number of children entering the foster care system by keeping families together. Each year, as part of our Angel Tree program, Topsail Presbyterian donates items to help support these families in transition. **Open Doors**: Topsail Presbyterian Church is committed to serving our community not just through financial giving, but by being actively engaged and integrated in the life of those around us. We open our doors to organizations such as The Red Cross, Alcoholics Anonymous, Narcotics Anonymous, the Scouts, the Lions Club, and other groups working to bring healing, growth, and service to our neighbors. **Matthew 25:40 (NRSV):** *“Truly I tell you, just as you did it to one of the least of these* Each small act of service can ripple across the world in ways we may never see. What begins as a simple bag of rice, soy, and vegetables becomes nourishment for a child sitting in a classroom — energy to learn, grow, and hope for a better tomorrow. Through **Rise Against Hunger**, a global movement to end hunger by empowering communities and providing life-sustaining meals, **Topsail Presbyterian Church** has already packaged over 40,000 meals for those in need around the world. These meals often go to school feeding programs, where they help improve nutrition, support education, and strengthen families. But Rise Against Hunger doesn’t stop at providing meals. Their mission extends to building sustainable solutions — helping communities develop agriculture, income-generating projects, and self-reliance for the future. This year, we hosted our **fourth meal-packing event**, bringing our church family and community together once again in fellowship and purpose. Our primary focus is reaching out to members who can no longer participate in church activities due to health concerns, limited mobility, or lack of transportation. We also walk alongside those experiencing grief, as well as military members and families during times of deployment. We are deeply grateful for the many volunteers who partner with us by running errands, providing transportation, preparing meals, and delivering donated chancel flowers. Our Digital Ministry Team plays a vital role in helping Topsail Presbyterian Church share the Gospel beyond our sanctuary walls. Each week, the team manages the audio/visual presentation and live-streaming of our worship services, ensuring that those who are homebound, traveling, or exploring our church from afar can still join us in worship. Whether you're watching live on Sunday morning or catching up later in the week, our online worship experience is designed to be accessible, meaningful, and high-quality. In addition to livestreaming our 10:30 a.m. service each Sunday, we maintain a complete archive of past services—so you can revisit a favorite sermon, share a message with a friend, or stay connected during a busy season. Many in our congregation have asked for help with hearing during worship, and we’re happy to share that we’ve installed a new hearing assistance system in the sanctuary! The system includes a transmitter connected to our sound system and five wireless receivers. We’ve tested it over the past few weeks, and the feedback has been very positive. Each receiver comes with its own earpiece. If you’d prefer not to use the shared earpiece, we provide disinfectant and individually packaged earbuds you can keep and bring back each week. You’ll find the receivers in a basket on the first table to the right as you enter the sound room. When you’re finished, please turn off the receiver and return it to the basket. Be careful not to press the channel button—this will disconnect you from the service audio. If that happens, just switch the channel back to 01, or turn the receiver off and on again. If space remains available, registration will open to the public on March 23. Summer Camp is designed for children who are fully potty trained and rising Pre-K through 1st grade. Campers will enjoy three fun-filled, friendship-focused weeks beginning July 6, July 13, and July 20. Camps are held Monday through Thursday from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., and snack is provided. The cost is $125 per week, plus a $15 weekly supply fee and a one-time $25 registration fee per child. All fees are due at registration to secure your child’s spot. Space is limited and available on a first-come, first-served basis. Over the past year, the Session and the Transition Ministry Team have worked to update the church’s Mission Study and clarify expectations for the next pastor. Steuart Link, expressing deep gratitude for his devotion to our congregation and his steady leadership during this time of transition. The Personnel Committee shared appreciation for sermons grounded in Scripture that speak to daily life and for the joy our children find in his engaging Children’s Sermons. As Head of Staff, Rev. Link has offered consistent guidance and support, fostering a cohesive and effective Session—always with moments of laughter and encouragement. We thank God for blessing TPC with Rev. Link, whose ministry has been exactly what our church needed. While we know his time with us is temporary, we trust in God’s continued blessings as we seek our next pastor. We also extend heartfelt thanks to Sheila Link for her patience and partnership in ministry. Through a rich blend of congregational hymns, choral anthems, and instrumental offerings, our music ministry seeks to lead the congregation in praise, reflection, and joyful expression of God’s love and grace. Our ministry is built on a commitment to nurturing musical gifts across generations through three primary ensembles. This ensemble plays a central role in the 10:30 AM Sunday service, regularly offering choral anthems and supporting congregational singing. Open to singers of all experience levels, the choir provides a space for both musical growth and spiritual fellowship. Adding a distinctive and inspiring dimension to our worship, the Handbell Choir provides instrumental selections ranging from meditative to celebratory. They enhance the liturgical seasons and special services, such as Advent, Christmas, and Easter, with unique artistry. Our younger members are invited to explore music as an expression of faith. Through this program, children build confidence and develop musical skills while learning songs and hymns to share with the congregation during special worship services. Whether you are an experienced musician or simply someone who enjoys making music with others, there is a place for you in this vibrant ministry. We usually begin in prayer, share a meal together, have a small group-style Bible study, and play interactive games or recreational activities.  Youth Sunday School is offered each Sunday during the 10:30am worship service. Participating students are excused from the worship service following the Children’s sermon and reconnect with their parents at the conclusion of the service.  Our youth is actively involved in Youth Service on the first Sunday of every month. We engage in scripture readings and ushering opportunities to serve the congregation and share our talents.   Our youth calendar of events is student-led. We look for opportunities to serve our church, local missions, and community members while sharing the gospel of Jesus Christ.   Come serve on Youth Sunday!
